What is L2 Aetherion?
Interlude Remastered: 100% Lineage II Interlude gameplay on the modern Lineage II Classic client. A long-term, retail-like server with carefully selected quality-of-life features, balanced progression and a healthy economy.
Is it Classic or Interlude?
Both, in different ways. The gameplay is 100% Interlude (its progression, mechanics and retail-like economy). The client you play on is the modern Lineage II Classic client, with its updated look and interface. Classic is only the client: this is not the Classic ruleset.
What are the rates?
EXP x5 and Item Drop x1. Everything else follows retail-like defaults. Adena, SP, spoil, quest and enchant rates and other details are still being finalised and will be published before launch.
How do I create an account?
Accounts are created only on this website. Register, then confirm your email address: your game account is created after you confirm. You cannot create accounts from the game client.
How do I play?
Download the L2 Aetherion launcher (one file, no installer) from the Download page and put it in an empty folder. Start it and press Download: it downloads the modern Lineage II Classic client into that same folder, keeps it up to date, repairs damaged files and starts the game with the right settings.
What is the NPC Buffer?
The basic buffer is free for everyone. The full buffer unlocks for 12 hours each time you vote; vote again to renew. The 12 hours is how long your access lasts, not how long individual buffs last.
Which automatic events are there?
Team vs Team (TvT), Deathmatch (DM) and Capture the Flag (CTF) run in rotation; a Boss Event is planned. Schedules will be announced.
What can I buy with donations?
Cosmetic weapon skins, armor skins, cloaks and other visual items, plus optional progression-convenience services (Class Transfer, Subclass and Noblesse quest completion). No combat equipment, stat boosts or direct PvP power is ever sold. Quest services are not cosmetics and are labelled as such.
Is it affiliated with NCSOFT?
No. L2 Aetherion is an independent fan project.
